Curriculum

Emerging Language Literacy Curriculum (ELLC): We have adopted the Emerging Language Literacy Curriculum (ELLC), which is a state approved curriculum aligned to the Missouri Early Learning Standards. Other content areas addressed in our curriculum are Early Language, Literacy & Written  Expression, Mathematics, Social Emotional Development, Adaptive Behavior and Physical Development, Healthy & Safety, Approaches to Learning, and the Sciences.

Project Lead the Way (PLTW): We have launched the PreK Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum that provides students with intentional hands-on lab activities that often include STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) processes. The purpose is to give students time, space, materials, and support to explore, research, learn, build, create, and design their ideas.

Conscious Discipline: The Conscious Discipline Program is implemented at AECC to support child development with social and emotional learning that fosters a fundamental shift in thinking to focus on positive intent, seeing the best in others and in themselves. It equips our educators and families to integrate social-emotional learning, discipline, and self-regulation that transform everyday discipline issues into teachable moments, equipping children with the social-emotional and communication skills needed to manage themselves, resolve conflict, and develop healthy behaviors. Parents are empowered with skills and a parent portal for reference that creates a safe, connected, and problem-solving environment for their families through composure and conscious responses to difficult situations.
