Greta Pitcher Named Interim Assistant Principal at Gotsch Intermediate

Affton School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Greta Pitcher as Interim Assistant Principal for Gotsch Intermediate School for the 2024-25 school year.

“Greta is already a proven leader at Gotsch. I am excited that she gets this opportunity to continue to support our students, staff, and families as the interim assistant principal. Her passion for fostering our students’ social and emotional growth and her commitment to our district is inspiring,” said Dr. Christine Powers, principal at Gotsch Intermediate School.  “We are fortunate to have her to step into this role and I am confident she will have an immediate, positive impact on our school community.”

Pitcher replaces Dr. Sarah Davidovits, who recently announced her resignation and will be returning to the Ladue School District, where she will serve as an administrator for the Special School District (SSD).

Pitcher has served Affton Schools since 2015, including one year as Summer School Principal as well as her current role as Social-Emotional Learning Interventionist at Gotsch Intermediate for the past three years, where she has made a positive and lasting impact on the culture of Gotsch Intermediate School. She is co-founder of the Gotsch Student Leadership Team, is Mental Health First Aid Certified, serves as the SEL Student Services coordinator, and serves as the Professional Development Committee (PDC) Chair for Gotsch.

“I’m excited to enter the role of interim assistant principal at Gotsch Intermediate, under the leadership of Dr. Powers,” said Pitcher. “I am looking forward to continuing to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting academic excellence, and helping students reach their full potential.”

In addition to her administrative experience, Pitcher served as a first grade teacher at Mesnier Primary for one year, as a preschool teacher at Affton Early Childhood for five years, and as an elementary teacher in both the Kansas City area and Tennessee. She earned a bachelor of science in elementary education and a master’s degree in elementary administration from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, as well as a specialist degree in school administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.

Pitcher was born and raised in Texas but graduated from Affton High School. She has been married to her husband, Tim, for 17 years and they have one child, Collin. When she is not busy with her son’s practices and games, she enjoys boating, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Pitcher will begin serving as interim assistant principal at Gotsch Intermediate School on July 1.
